Studio Devotion
Written By Lauren Sauder
I’ve thought long about this word—devotion. Do I devote myself to my studio? Do I devote myself to my practice? I reflect, in silence.
Devotion packs heft, it’s bold and unforgiving. But so is creativity. Being a creative is not something you are one day and not the next. It’s a skill and yet also a lifestyle.
While creativity is something I practice with my hands, it’s also something that doesn’t escape me. It affects each and every thought I have, carrying its weight and challenging my every move.
So today I sit.
And realize I devote.
