You spend your entire life building relationships with your friends, family, pets, coworkers, and even the baristas at your favorite coffee shop. Self-love is making yourself a priority and consistently taking time to do something that directly benefits your body, health, or mind. 1. Take you seriously


Your relationship with yourself is just as important as any other, so make time for it! Learn who you are… What are your passions, interests, hobbies, and favorite foods? How do envision your perfect day? These questions may seem silly, but do you know the true answers? Download our free journal prompts and work through some of these questions. Actively be concerned and attentive to your overall well-being and happiness and build clarity for yourself. Take some time to work through this self love tip, free write, and answer these questions for yourself.


2. Make loving yourself a habit


There will always be laundry to fold, dishes to clean, and unread emails, but remember that there is only one of you. For this self love tip, I challenge you to spend 1 hour a day doing something that makes you happy: go for a walk, journal, try out that DIY project you’ve been wanting to do, go biking, or read that book you’ve been wanting to start. Make this self love exercise about you. This time is for you and no one else. If you can’t get that hour in, then spend what you can afford, whether that’s 30 minutes or 5. 


3. Surround yourself with positive vibes


Nothing good comes from negativity and unfortunately, it’s everywhere. You can’t avoid every advertisement or unkind post, but you can choose who you surround yourself with. Practice self love and acceptance by filling your life with people who only want to see you succeed and stand by your side every step of the way. Take 5 minutes in the morning to run through self love affirmations, or spend some time doing self love meditation. Use this self love tip to find ways to bring your mind to positivity.


4. Forgive and forget


Let’s be honest, life is no walk in the park. You make decisions that aren’t necessarily the right ones. As much as you may want to be, you are not perfect. Practice spending time enjoying the process and not fixating on the final outcomes.


5. Positive affirmations


Recognize negative, unhealthy thoughts for what they are, and change the tone of which you speak to yourself. Often times, if you reflect on the things you say to yourself as if they were a different person, you would hate that person. Practice observing your thoughts, and recognizing ways to make them positive, strong, affirmations. You are strong, confident, beautiful, and worthy. Self-love is a fickle thing, but you are enough.
